Soke
HAYASHI Teruo was born in Nara
(the ancient
capital of Japan,
formerly
named “Yamato”), near Osaka,
the 21/10/1924. From
age 14 to 19, he
practiced judo and was allowed 3rd dan. After that he studied
Karate with Sensei
Kosei Kuniba, Motobu-ha Shitoryu Seishinkai. Already at that time he
demonstrated great abilities and was able to use several types of old
weapons (Kobuki: Bo, Kama,
Tonfa, Tenbei, Tenpei, Nunchaku, Sai, Sansetsukon, Kusari-gama,
Suruchin,
Manji-zai, etc.). For this reason he was called “Master of
Arms”.
He was also invited to
many important events and national, international and world
championships to
demonstrate the techniques of Karate-Do and Kobudo with very realistic
and
spectacular actions.
In 1958, Japan
Karatedo Rengokai (constituent body of J.K.F.) was founded
and he was
appointed General Secretary. After
many
years he became its President and allowed 9th
Dan.
He was
appointed President of Seishinkai in 1959.
In 1961,
he was allowed to found Japan Kobudo Kenshinryu Kai
Style.
From April
1967, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Osaka
Pref. Karate-do Federation.
From April
1969, Executive Director to J.K.F. (Japan
Karate-do
Federation). Allowed 8th Dan of J.K.F.
on 31st March
1979. 1st Class qualification examiner.
In June
1971, he founded Japan
Karate-do Hayashi-ha Shitoryu Kai and assumed the position
of President and
Soke.

The
Grand Master of Japanese martial Arts, specialist
of Karate-do and Kobudo, Soke Teruo Hayashi 10th
Dan passed away the
24th of September 2004. He entered in the
eternal sleep in his house
in Osaka.
He
was born 80 years ago; his reputation is due to his passion and
dedication for
the Japanese Martial Arts. He is the most important interpreter of
Karate-Do
and Traditional Kobu-Do in modern key.
Number one in the world, he represents
the maximum exponent,
respectable master of great competence and deep connoisseur of the
martial
arts, also influential in other Japanese disciplines (Budo &
Sports). Man
of great seriousness and competence, he has given an immense
contribution to
the spread of the Martial Arts all over the world (in particular
Karate-do give
and Kobu-do). Also he is considered one of the last samurai. Its school
excels
to world-wide level with extraordinary champions and technicians of
high professionalism
that endeavor for the development and the spread of Karate-Do and
Kobu-Do all
over the world.
To
international level the maximum technical representative of the
school of the Soke Hayashi is the Master Mitsuya Seinosuke, its direct
student.
Since the 60’s, the Soke Hayashi has given to Master Mitsuya
a special
training, finalized to face the difficult task to diffuse its style
overseas of
Japan, in the five continents. Master Mitsuya has constantly studied,
perfected
and refined its own technical abilities, achieving the maximum level of
excellence.
